Archeological museum

The museum was established in the middle of the last century, and one of the first exhibits, what place they found here, there was a statue of Światowid. Over time, the harvest grew, getting rich with decorations’ related to the ancient and medieval history of Małopolska. Today you can see products made of bone and horn, silver and gold ornaments, coins and jewelry. Consciousness is very impressive, that the items collected here have a dozen or so, and some even tens of thousands of years.
The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions related to the oldest history of Małopolska.

Archdiocese Museum

The museum invites you to a permanent exhibition “Religious art: painting, sculpture, artistic craftsmanship of the 12th-17th centuries” and to see the room of Pope John Paul II, who lived here as a bishop. The old interior has been preserved in the room, supplementing it with later mementoes related to Karol Wojtyła.

ethnographic Museum

Who is close to the atmosphere of a “quiet village, happy village”, you should definitely check out Wolnica Square. In the museum located here, you can see colorful Krakow and highlander costumes, everyday tools and items, today quite archaic. According to the exhibits, a calendar of rural customs can be recreated, related to church holidays and farm work. In addition, masterpieces of folk art have been collected here. Museum of Pharmacy Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University

A visit to this museum is an extraordinary encounter with the history of pharmacy from the Middle Ages to the present day. One of the rooms houses the interior of a 17th-century pharmacy. You can see old vessels here, majolica and mortars, furniture from former monastic pharmacies. The interiors of the attics were also reconstructed, on which the herbs were dried, and rooms, where medications were prepared.

Geological Museum

Thanks to the permanent exhibition, which was arranged here, you can see the geological structure of the Krakow area.

Museum of the History of Photography

The museum's collection consists of over two million photos, film and film. There are also cameras and photographic equipment.

Polish Aviation Museum

Exhibition related to aviation technology. The collections include, among others. aviation propulsion manufactured since 1908 r. and also planes, helicopters, aircraft engines and experimental rockets.

Museum of Young Poland – Rydlowka

The premiere of Stanisław Wyspiański's Wedding in 1901 r, caused a storm in Krakow's intellectual environment. The poet has moved “alive” events and episodes on the stage, which really happened during the wedding of the poet Lucjan Rydel and the peasant woman Jadwiga Mikołajczyk. Above all, however, each of the people presented in the drama had its own “double” among the participants of an authentic wedding. Some were proud, others were indignant… A singing cottage that has survived to this day”, the place of that wedding, recreates those events and the fate of their heroes: Wyspiański, Tetmajers, Spud, the Mikołajczyk family and others. The interior design of one of the rooms strictly corresponds to the description included by Wyspiański in the stage directions to the Wedding. There is also a small exhibition of Krakow folk costumes.

National Remembrance Museum – The Eagle Pharmacy

The exhibition presents the history of the Krakow ghetto. During the war, a pharmacy, belonging to Tadeusz Pankiewicz, was the point, in which medical aid for Jews was organized and underground activity was carried out.

Museum of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Maius

The oldest museum in Krakow. In addition to the collection of paintings and sculptures, it has a unique collection of instruments and scientific instruments, m.in. astronomical globes from the 16th to the 19th century. Cricoteka

Museum of the theater founded by the late St. 1990 r. Tadeusz Kantor. The experimental Cricot theater that he founded was located here. Nowadays, memorabilia related to the already legendary group of the artist are gathered here. In the museum, you can see photographs documenting famous stagings, recreated scenery, drawings. The exposure changes from time to time.
The Cricoteka is complemented by the Kantor's studio at ul. Siena 7, where,you can also see drawings for performances and paintings. The preserved residential part and, additionally, the gallery created for the benefit of visitors, are intended to introduce the figure of the genius creator. Only Tadeusz Kantor's works are exhibited in the gallery. To visit the studio-gallery, make an appointment by phone in advance.

Wieliczka salt mine

The mine is the most famous Polish monument in the world. W 1978 r. UNESCO inscribed it on the First World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. For approx. 800 salt was mined from here for years. The sightseeing route is approx. 3 km. Walking through it, you can admire the underground lakes, post-exploitation chambers, unique chapels with unique sculptures and salt reliefs, collections of mining tools. Larger groups are best reported by phone.

Drive: mine is in the distance 10 km east of Krakow on the E40 route. From the main railway station, co 15 a private bus runs min.
