Cabarets in Krakow

This form of artistic activity has become a permanent element of the tradition of Krakow. It is here, after all, that the first Polish cabaret Zielony Balonik was created, Piwnica Pod Baranami has grown to become a legend. But there are also young cabarets, which even with bravado are gaining a strong position among fans of this type of entertainment. The repertoire consists of skits, musical performances, and most of all a poetic song.

On the initiative of Krakow artists, it was decided to create a cabaret here, which is to refer to tradition “michalikowe” evenings. As before the age, so, in Art Nouveau scenery, artists singing, with a joke, they entertain the audience with poetry. Performances take place on Fridays and Saturdays at. 20.00.

This is the most interesting artistic event of the last few years. Although it is one of the youngest, It is characterized by professionalism as well as extraordinary fantasy and originality. Performances are held on Fridays at. 20.15. Tickets available at the Cultural Information Center and the Camelot Café.

The cabaret invites you every Monday at. 20.00. The artists refer to the convention of traditional cabaret: fast pace, numerous dress-ups, a comedy of errors and, of course, funny lyrics.

“Cellar” already counts over 50 years. Wiesław Dymny was or still is associated with the cabaret, Ewa Demarczyk, Leszek Długosz, Anna Szałapak, Jacek Wójcicki, Zbigniew Preisner, Grzegorz Turnau and others. Its founder and spiritual guardian was Piotr Skrzynecki. After his death, in 1997 r. the further fate of the cabaret was discussed. However, it was decided to continue the traditions “The basement”.
